Geometric Constructions Lesson

Constructions: The ancient Greeks insisted that only two tools (a compass and a straightedge) be used for geometric constructions, which were idealized drawings assuming perfection in the use of these tools.

The compass was used to create “perfect” circles and for marking off segments of “equal” length.
The straightedge could be used to draw a straight line through two designated points.

Directions:

Take out your complete POW write up the the 3-4-5 triangle and use the skills rubric to score yourself on how well you demonstrated the Habits of a Mathematician.
Trade your POW write up with your table mates and read through each other’s POW using the Content rubric. You should each grade everyone’s POW at your table (3-4 peer grades per POW)
