About Me
I’m a proud Animas High School alumnus, graduating in 2015, and I returned to AHS as a teacher after earning my B.S. in Mathematics with a Secondary Education License from Western Colorado University in 2020. Growing up in Durango gave me a deep love for the outdoors, and I spend much of my free time rock climbing, backcountry skiing, and trail running. During college, I worked as a climbing guide and volunteered with Search and Rescue at Black Canyon National Park.
As both a student and now an educator, I’ve been deeply inspired by project-based learning. I’m passionate about creating meaningful, real-world experiences for my students and learning alongside them.
I live in Durango with my wife, Madi Lloyd—who teaches 11th-grade Chemistry at AHS—our dog, Tucker, and our cat, Hops.
