Objective
Develop a process for solving the Janitor POW.
Janitor POW
Description: Three Janitors work in the same building, however they all arrive at work at different times. The first Janitor arrives at the building and cleans half of the building in 2 hours. The second Janitor arrives and helps the first Janitor clean and they both work together. In 30 minutes they clean up to 75% of the building before the third Janitor arrives. Once the third Janitor arrives all three of them finish cleaning the building in 10 minutes.
Question: How long would it take for each Janitor to clean the building by themselves? (Note each Janitor cleans at a different rate)
Extension: While the Janitors are cleaning a bear breaks into the building and in 15 minutes dirties 10% of the building. How long will it take for the Janitors to clean the building while the bear is present?

POW Steps:
At your Tables:
- (2 min) Read through the POW and list all the important factors of the problem.
- (3 min) Without talking to your peers, write down 3 ideas or questions you have about the POW and explore them.
- (5 min) Share each of your ideas to your table group, and write down at least one idea that would be worth exploring and the name of the person with that idea.
At your whiteboards: (30 min)
- Use the ideas from your table group and work on solving the POW.
- When you think you have an answer check in with Ande
- Once a solution is reached, move on to the extension question.
Group Discussion: (10 min)
- Each group will summarize their process for finding a solution.
- How can we justify our solution?
